2005

What an awesome year!

2005 was an absolutely incredible year. Here is a look back at some of the highlights.

January and February started the year out slow. The stress level was out of this world. I was taking 20 credits in 7 upper-level courses. On top of that, I was working a minimum of 20 hours a week at Verizon Wireless. I learned some life lessons in my personal life.

Little did I know that this was all a set up for a highly successful, enjoyable, and rewarding year!

March rolled around and the winter quarter ended. Exam week was the peak of the stress. Then, I booked a last minute trip to Disney World to spend time with my family!

Then we had a special birthday...

Unfortunately, another difficult quarter was ahead of me. I took another 20 credits in the spring quarter. My academic advisor was vehemntly opposed to this, but I did it anyway. I got all A's!

Star Wars Episode III was released in May! Here's a picture that was taken before we left to see the midnight IMAX showing.

Summer was quick to arrive. I enrolled in chemistry and literature at Columbus State. But first, I went to New York City with Verizon Wireless to participate in a diasaster recovery exercise.

I worked all summer, mostly 50-60 hours a week. Suppleye.com had their annual cookout. Cory from California took a trip out east and stopped by to see me. I went to Tennessee with my family. A very good summer indeed.

Then came a life milestone: moving day. Dan and I lived in Harrison Apartments together, but in September that came to an end.

Quite possibly the best event of the year: moving day! I now live on Lane Avenue with 6 of my closest friends, and the house is quite possibly the nicest house on campus.

I didn't take as many credits during autumn quarter. I only took 11 credits, but I remained full-time at Verizon Wireless because they hired me as a full-time employee! I worked night shift during school, which led to a very abnormal sleeping pattern.

Fall quarter brought many great times. I went to an Indians game with my family and the Bahas family. I saw Dave Chapelle do stand-up. I saw the Transsiberian Orchestra. My relatives from England came to OSU to visit.

We celebrated Kevin's 20th birthday at Buca de Beppos!

The Colbert Report debuted!

We had an awesome Halloween party!

At Thanksgiving, I met my cousin Elizabeth!

I worked my butt off all year, and it finally paid off... I graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering... before turning 21!

Our house looks awesome because of our winter solstice decorations!

My uncle enjoyed the gift I got him for the family gag gift exchange.

2005 was a great year on the political front too. A bad year for Bush is a good year for me. Bush is under fire on many fronts; just think about Katrina, torture, Valerie Plame, and eavesdropping.

The only thing I failed to do in 2005 is to add new roads to my U.S. road trip map. Fortunately, 2006 offers many opportunities!

There are many great things ahead in 2006! A business trip to Manhattan in the 2nd week of January. Las Vegas in February. Midterm elections (come on dems, win some seats!) And who knows what the summer will bring. A trip to Europe, perhaps? (Leaches, are you reading this?)

Happy New Year everyone!
